Measurement
Jakul.in uses cookie-free, first-party measurement requests recorded in ordinary web-server access logs. The site records aggregate page and interaction categories to understand which maintained pages, archive resources, articles, and contact paths are useful.
The measurement script does not create an account, cookie, persistent identifier, browser fingerprint, or advertising profile. Event properties exclude visitor names, email addresses, entered text, and complete referring URLs. Article events identify the publication hostname and public article path, without query strings or fragments.
Privacy controls
The measurement script does not run when the browser enables Global Privacy Control or sends a Do Not Track preference. These preferences do not prevent ordinary page requests from appearing in server logs. Articles and reading transcripts are available without JavaScript; transcript filtering and the optional archive viewer require it. Direct archive and video links remain available.
Server logs
The web server records request information including IP address, time, requested URL, response status, referring URL, and browser user agent. Access is restricted to server administrators. Logs are configured to rotate daily and retain 14 rotations; they support troubleshooting, security, and aggregate usage reporting. This is separate from the limited properties sent by the measurement script.
External services
The maintained pages request fonts from Google Fonts. Media pages show locally hosted video posters. Selecting a play link loads a YouTube player from its privacy-enhanced domain; YouTube then receives requests and applies its own data practices. With JavaScript disabled, the link opens YouTube directly. External publications, social profiles, and organizations apply their own privacy practices after you follow their links.
